Important Statement from the Practice

It has come to our notice that some of you have received a leaflet through your door entitled prescriptions are changing, the leaflet leads you to believe that the practice is working with the pharmacy indicated on the leaflet.  We would like to assure all our patients that this is not the case, the practice continues to remain impartial to any chemist and would like to confirm that which ever one you choose to nominate as your pharmacy for the electronic prescription service is entirely up to you.  The practice was not consulted about having its name on the leaflet and it appears there is nothing we can do about this.

We would also like to assure you that if you do not wish to use electronic prescribing then you do not have to.  If you prefer to be handed a paper prescription and take it to the chemist yourself then please just carry on doing this as you always have done.

A new way to get your medicines and appliances

electronic prescribing patient information

The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service. It gives you the chance to change how the practice sends your prescription to the place you choose to get your medicines or appliances from.
If you collect your repeat prescriptions from the practice then you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription. Instead, the practice will send it electronically to the place you choose, saving you time. You will need to register at your chosen pharmacy for this new service.
