How to make an appointment with a doctor
Online appointments booking service available via Patient Access
Book Via Phone
Please call the appointments desk on 01273 464640 from 8.00am, for either a same day appointment (subject to availability) or a Pre-bookable appointment up to 2 weeks ahead.
Please note that on a busy day if you ring later in the day you may not be able to have an appointment the same day for something that is routine, of course if it is something that needs attention that day then you will be given an appointment.
40% of our appointments are pre-bookable two weeks in advance, this should help if you want to see a particular GP. If all the pre-bookable slots have gone then you will be asked to ring in on the day you wish to be seen.
If the GP asks you to come back then please book this appointment before you leave if you have been asked to return within two weeks or under. If over two weeks then you should ring in two weeks before you need to be seen, please inform the receptionist it is a re-visit appointment.
If you are a working person and you cannot ring in at 8.00am because you are at work/on your way to work then special provision has been made to allow you to book an appointment in advance. Please discuss this with the receptionist
Telephone Consultations - You may on occasions feel that you do not need to come in and see the GP or practice nurse as your query or problem is something that could be dealt with over the telephone. Reception can arrange for you to have a telephone consultation appointment where you will be called back later in the day, unfortunately we are unable to give a specific time that the doctor or nurse will call you, please be aware that calls will show as unknown caller and the doctor/nurse will only ring once, due to confidentiality no messages can be left on answer phone.
Appointments with the practice nurse - All appointments are pre-bookable.
Cancelling an appointment
If for whatever reason you need to cancel an appointment, please contact the surgery as soon as possible. By failing to keep an appointment you may have denied someone in real need. You can also cancel an appointment via our on-line service
